Army Corps of Engineers Site Assessment
US Army Corps of Engineers representative Krysta Stygard visited the site on March 22, 2022 to determine stream classification, assess erosion issues, and advise on permitting requirements.
NC Cooperative Extension Site Assessment
Mitch Woodward, Extension Area Specialized Agent - Watersheds & Water Quality, also visited the site on March 20 to evaluate the watershed, streambank conditions, and storm water issues. He recommended development of an engineered design for stream restoration and repair.
Environmental Engineering Site Assessment
Jennings Environmental, PLLC, a professional engineering consulting firm specializing in ecosystem restoration and water resources engineering, will be visiting the site soon help us evaluate next steps, including developing engineering design plans and specifications, environmental grant writing, and project administration.
